We are enjoying our winter, despite the ridiculous amount of snow that lines our driveway! It has truly been a crazy winter; we've had some six or seven snow days already. We laugh that we have a fenced in yard, because the snow is so high Lucy could easily just hop right over the fence and be on her merry way. But I think she appreciates having a warm house and hopefully has no plans of running off anytime soon!
Ryan is gearing up for baseball season to begin in a few weeks. He is currently teaching Hamlet among other things, which means we are hearing a lot of Shakespeare quotes at home... :) He has also been cooking lots of delicious meals lately and teaching himself all kinds of fancy kitchen tricks!
Leah continues to enjoy pre-school - she is learning so much! Just today in the car she taught me all about various species of penguins, explained to me that "Q" and "U" are best friends, and is learning about the items we see on the altar during Mass as well as the liturgical colors. She is still taking tap dance, and we are looking forward to her first show in a few weeks.
Wyatt is changing into a little boy before our very eyes. He loves all things sports. All around town, he will point out billboards with a football helmet, or a basketball hoop, or sign for a soccer field with MUCH enthusiasm. He has come to enjoy story time quite a bit too - his current favorites are an ABC baseball book, Toot Toot! Beep Beep!, and a Mercer Mayer lift the flap book called Where is Kitty?
I have officially started my maternity leave! "Baby Tank's" due date has come and gone, so we are eagerly awaiting his arrival! Leah was a good ten or eleven days late. Wyatt was only two. But apparently, it's a family tradition. It has been nice to have a bit of a break between teaching and baby's arrival. I was able to finish grading the projects and tests I had assigned before leave, as well as clean up around the house, and just have some extra time with the kids! But hopefully, we will have news to share soon!
