A Few End of Summer Activities

Just some recent pictures of the kids and their adventures...Leah is back to school (1st grade) and started pre-team at gymnastics. She mastered her two-wheeler and has been enjoying bike rides since! Wyatt started tumbling and we have at-home learning time when Asher takes his naps, which helps when he feels bummed that Leah gets to go off to school without him! Asher is 18 months now and a bundle of energy and fun. He, I'm sure, is glad Wyatt has another year before preschool! We think he is going to (mostly) like having a new brother around in a few months because he loves babies!

Our Three Stooges

Summer is here! Leah and Ryan's school years have come to a close and we have begun enjoying more time all together. (Ok, also there are more small skirmishes, but it's worth it!) A few pics of some summer shenanigans...

More "Firsts"

Wyatt's first movie at the theatre! (Big Hero 6...he loved it!) Asher's fist hair cut! (He did not love it.)

Happy First Birthday Asher!

Our little Asher turned one this week! What a fast year it was! Asher was such a happy baby throughout his first year, and he continues to bring us lots of joy as we get to see more and more of his personality developing. Some of our favorite things about him are: his squeals of joy when he "wrestles" with daddy and Leah and Wyatt. We love his crazy hair. We love his snuggles and his slobbery kisses. Lucy loves how frequently he feeds her from his high chair.  We never stop laughing about how sometimes he randomly starts walking backwards and laughing about it like it is the funniest thing that has ever happened. When Ryan comes home from work he immediately motors over to him with his arms out yelling "Daaaaah! Daaah!" The things Asher most enjoys these days are: emptying Kleenex boxes tissue by tissue, emptying the mini-fridge where we store juice boxes and other assorted beverages, unraveling toilet paper, playing in Lucy's water bowl, climbing, sitting in ...

Things I have Said This Morning

Some days feel like we go from one disaster to another! Minor disasters of course, but it's like living in a wind tunnel! Fortunately, I can usually chuckle at the antics of our little kooks. Also, I am not attached to any of our possessions as they likely be covered in crayon or broken soon. Here are things I have said this morning: -Please do not put chapstick on the dog. -Don't wipe your hands on your brother's head. -No, we are not sending daddy a picture of your dirty diaper. -NO MAPLE SYRUP IN THE CAR! Never ever. -Please stop stealing my quarters. -Why are all these clean clothes in the bathtub?? -Leave your stitches alone!! x50 (Wyatt fell off a chair and won the "First Kid to Get Stitches Award" this weekend.) -Nope we are not having fruit snacks for breakfast. -Who put all these fruit snack packs in the toilet? Now no one gets to eat them after lunch. And it's only 9am!  :)

Chopped 2015

We competed in the second annual Dainty Family New Year's Chopped! A competition we modeled off the food network show Chopped. We each shop for 3 ingredients for either an appetizer, entree, or dessert. Then, you draw which basket you will have to prepare. Ryan has won twice, but he went down this year to Yours Truly! We had some interesting ingredients this year including cheddar biscuit mix, farro, dandelion greens, buddah's hand, Doritos, and circus peanuts! Yikes! Somehow, everything we ate was pretty darn delicious! Leah made a starfruit icecream for example. We were very full by the end of the day and had so much fun. Happy New Year's!
