One Month for Wyatt

I know this sounds cliche, but already?!

Driveway Graffiti

The other day Leah and I mixed up a batch of sidewalk paint (cornstarch + water + food dye!) and went to town.  It was a fun way to practice making letters and experiment with mixing colors.  It got a bit messy when Leah decided to pour entire containers out and mix them together with her tush, but that's what the hose is for, right? And here's a picture of this guy...just for fun.  As Leah said, "Baby Wyatt is too little to paint."  But he had fun watching golf inside with Daddy.  Okay, he didn't really watch golf.  But he did nap on Ryan's chest to the sound of golf announcers in the background while wearing a pretty stinkin' cute little polo.

What We've Been Up To...

We are figuring out this family of four thing day by day.  We are short on sleep, but enjoying each moment!  Wyatt likes the baby carrier, because it helps him keep his little thumb in his mouth!   He also loves being outside, and will calm down almost instantly when we take him outdoors, so we take lots of walks these days. We've also learned that the magic cure for his cranky moments is the loud rackety fan above our oven!  Babies.   We are keeping up with our garden this summer, and have begun harvesting some enormous zucchinis!  Leah and I made almond flour zucchini bread with this giant zucchini that was nearly the size of Wyatt!  I think next we'll make some zucchini fritters for dinner some night... We've had a chance to do some swimming, and Leah has become quite daring and adventurous in the pool.  (Her swim lessons which she gripes endlessly about are paying off!)  Another day we took the kids to a splash park in town we hadn't been too

Wyatt's First Week Home

Wyatt is a whopping ELEVEN days old, and we have been home from the hospital for a week, enjoying our first days as a family of four.  Wyatt's first outing was to his one week check-up at the doctor's office.  He is eating like a champ, and has already surpassed his birth weight - he is now 7lbs, 13oz.  Other than that, we've mostly been holed up inside due to the incredible heat we're having.  Ryan and Leah have had a few outings to the store, or to go swimming, etc. so she doesn't go stir crazy.  Meanwhile, there has been lots of books being read, a good number of crafts, lots of naps, and occasional visitors stopping by to meet our little guy.  Here are a few pictures that I've managed to snap... The day we arrived home from the hospital. Think these guys look anything alike?? So far Wyatt sleeps pretty well in his bassinet! Proud big sister! Lucy is the ever-present guardian of little Wyatt, just as she was with Leah.

Welcome Wyatt Jospeh!

Wyatt Joseph was born Monday, June 25, 2012, at 11:43 PM. He weighed 7 lbs 10 oz and measured 20 inches. We are so blessed by his presence, and we love him so much already. Leah has been a great big sister to Wyatt and is adjusting nicely to no longer being the center of the universe. As for Wyatt himself, he has a calm demeanor, a love of sleep, a healthy appetite, and a working pooper. What more could anyone want as parents?!!! Below are some pictures from our time at the hospital. We will post pictures from home in the near future.
